Typing Lucy Church Amiably

Performance by Martha Raoli

>>TUESDAY, MAY 14, 7-11 PM

The solitary act of writing is performed publicly, at the Glasshouse Café, when Martha Raoli sits at her typewriter to rewrite the Gertrude Stein book, Lucy Church Amiably, while also transcribing ambient language from audible conversations onto a paper scroll. The resultant text-object documents a dialogue between the audience and the book, as mediated by the artist, in a four-hour act of transparent production.
